Payments
JackOps takes online payments through Square, and you record payments you collect in person.
Online payments
Section titled “Online payments”Members who choose Early Bator or Late Stroker pay online through Square when they register. Once payment goes through, they get their confirmation email automatically. Nothing for you to do.
When someone doesn’t finish paying online
Section titled “When someone doesn’t finish paying online”If someone starts checking out but doesn’t finish, their registration waits as unpaid. JackOps follows up automatically:
- About 30 minutes later, they get a reminder email with a link to finish paying.
- If they still haven’t paid, the registration is cancelled automatically 24 hours after they registered, or 30 minutes before the event starts, whichever comes first. Their spot opens up again.
Before then, you can also sort it out yourself from their row (managers and owners): take payment at the door, waive it, or cancel it.
Taking payment at the door
Section titled “Taking payment at the door”See Check-In at the Door. In short: scan their QR code and use Cash or Card / Tap, or tap Door on their row, pick Card or Cash, check the amount and confirm. Either way they’re checked in at the same time.
Paying with credit
Section titled “Paying with credit”Members can build up credit, for example from a cancellation, a Bator Points reward, or credit they bought from you. If someone has credit, their row shows their balance and an Apply Credit button:
- Tap Apply Credit.
- The credit amount is filled in for you. Change it if they want to use less.
- If the credit doesn’t cover the whole price, enter what you’re collecting in Collect $ and pick Card or Cash.
- Tap ✓.
If you collected money too, they’re checked in at the same time. If credit alone covered it, check them in as normal afterwards.
Waiving a payment
Section titled “Waiving a payment”Need to comp someone? Tap Waive on their row (managers and owners). They’re marked as waived and checked in, with nothing collected.
Selling credit
Section titled “Selling credit”Owners can add credit to a member’s account from their profile under Bros. If the member paid you for it in cash or by card, mark it as a purchase so it counts as revenue in your reports. Goodwill credit you’re simply giving away doesn’t count as revenue. See Managing Your Members.
Checking your revenue
Section titled “Checking your revenue”On the event page, the stats bar shows Collected, the total taken for that event. Waived registrations don’t count. For bigger-picture numbers, see Reports.
Fixing a mistake
Section titled “Fixing a mistake”Marked something paid by accident? Tap the small × next to the payment on that row. It goes back to unpaid, and you can record the right payment.
Square item names
Section titled “Square item names”Under Settings → Payments (owners), each of the three prices is matched to an item name in your Square catalog. These have to match Square exactly, or checkout for that price will fail.
